Since Thornton-Firkin LLP’s first appointment with Kajima Partnerships in 2000 we have provided Employers Agent/Quantity Surveying Services on ten PFI projects with six successful bids being taken through from Invitation to Tender to completion of the building projects on site. The vast majority of the schemes are in the Education Sector but others include Fire and Rescue and Library projects.
Other Schools Projects
Thornton-Firkin LLP’s first successful scheme with Kajima Partnerships was North Tyneside Schools For the Future which provided one new secondary school and three new primary schools, overall value £28m. This was followed by Ealing Schools PFI which provided one new secondary school and three new primary schools (value £28.4m) and Northampton Wooldale Learning Centre (value £16m) which created a through education facility providing crèche, nursery, primary and secondary education on one site. Our next successful scheme was Darlington Schools PFI which provided a new primary school and the all inclusive Education Village which integrated a primary, secondary and special educational needs school into one building, the first of its kind in the country (value £29m). Our final education project with Kajima Partnerships was the second phase of Havestock School PFI which completed the new build secondary school, overall (value £19.4m).
