Following a devastating fire, Thornton-Firkin were appointed as cost consultants on the restoration of the Grade I listed St Michael and All Angels Church in Newburn.

This was a two phase contract firstly to make safe and then renovate the fire damaged church back to its full glory. Phase I comprised of emergency repairs to make the building safe and watertight with Phase 2 following on to renovate and refurbish the damaged church.
Both phases utilised the JCT Prime Cost Contract using competitive tender agreed percentage additions for the Main Contractor and competitively tendered specialist, heritage and conservation sub-contract packages.
