Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire
Wellington College was first proposed in early 1850s by the Prime Minister of the day, Lord Edward Stanley, 14th Earl of Derby, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. They agreed that a charitable educational institution should be set up in memory of the great Duke, for the orphans of army officers, with the money to be raised by subscription. Since it foundation the College has established itself as a leading co-educational boarding school.
Other Schools Projects
We have assisted the College on a number of new build and refurbishment projects including boarding houses, a sports pavilion, a modern languages department, an artificial sports pitch and the provision of LV and HV electrical ring main around the College campus. One project of note was the conversion of an historic campus building from two former Boys boarding houses into the first Girls boarding house following the College’s decision in 2005 to fully integrate Boys and Girls education.
