Designed and constructed to a BREEAM Very Good rating this innovative retail warehousing scheme includes several environmentally friendly technologies including permeable paving, rainwater harvesting tanks, solar hot water, natural ventilation louvers and sun pipes. The fabric of the building was also designed to exceed the requirements of Building Regulations by at least 75% thus minimising the developments future carbon footprint. The scheme also included extensive archaeological works, public footpaths improvements, wildlife habitat conservation, native planting and tree protection works as part of Location 3 Properties commitment to the protection and preservation of the local ecology.
The scheme also included a phased Section 278 agreement for improvements to Burgess Hill’s ring road which required careful management with the adjoining retail and commercial tenants but all aspects of the development were completed on time and within budget.
