Refurbishment of Hylton Castle, Sunderland

The project, with a contract cost of £2.38 million, comprises the Refurbishment of the 14th Century Hylton Castle in Sunderland, which is a Grade I Listed Scheduled Ancient Monument.

The Works involve the conservation and repair of the existing stone walls, installation of new bronze windows, construction of new accessible roof, three internal floors and internal fitting-out to form a visitor welcome area, open plan spaces for historical interpretation, flexible use rooms, a cafe and public facilities.

There is additional visitor parking and improvements to accessible paths.
