Wolverhampton Low Level Train Station

The conversion of the Grade II Listed Great Western Railway Train Station and surrounding railway sidings in Wolverhampton into a shell only casino together with the infrastructure works for a Premier Inn Hotel, Public House, multi storey residential development and a car dealership.

Opened in 1854 as the most Northern terminus of the broad gauge Great Western Railway the station contained an ornate metalwork roof designed by Isambard Kingdon Brunel. Since its closure in 1981 the station buildings, platforms and sidings had been neglected and a combination of vandalism, structural problems and wet/dry rot threatened the complete demolition of the buildings. However, the future of the Grade II listed buildings were saved when the site was re-developed as part of the Canalside Quarter Regeneration programme.
